​Seitel Health, Safety, and Environment Policy

 

Seitel, Inc. and its subsidiaries, herein referred to as Seitel or the Company, are committed to achieving and maintaining excellence and to demonstrating continuous improvement in all aspects of its operations. Seitel will, as far as it is reasonably practicable, provide a work environment and a system of work that protects the health and safety of its employees, visitors, contractors and the public and at the same time minimizes the negative impact of its activities on the environment. Seitel believes that all injuries are preventable and will strive to achieve a workplace that is incident free.


To achieve excellence, the cooperation and commitment of all management, staff, contractors and visitors is essential. The appropriate level of functional Manager is accountable for achieving these objectives.
In order to support this policy, Seitel will:

  • Promote and maintain high levels of awareness of workplace hazards, by identifying the risks associated with the hazards and the processes to render residual risk as low as reasonably practicable;

  • Encourage the development, implementation and utilization of industry best practices;

  • Develop, implement, utilize and maintain SEISMS – Seitel’s HSSE and SD Management System;

  • Verify that employees are competent to conduct their tasks and are fit for worksite employment;

  • Set objectives and targets, establish leading indicators, regularly review performance, undertake corrective action where required and recognize excellence;

  • Maintain a reporting system that allows analysis of losses or potential losses and facilitates dissemination of recommendations to prevent recurrence within the Company, and our industry, where applicable;

  • Perform audits and inspections of Company and contractor management systems, facilities, equipment and activities;

  • Conduct its business operations to minimize negative environmental impact through reducing, reusing and recycling, then by recovery - treating and disposing of waste in an environmentally responsible manner.

All employees and contractors will be required to:

  • Comply with or exceed relevant standards specified by law, SEISMS and industry;

  • Participate and contribute to the planning process, actively assist the Company in achieving its stated goals and targets;

  • Participate in the reporting and investigation of all incidents, hazards and near misses that have the potential to impact on the Company;

  • Participate in proposing processes or methods to minimize risk and to communicate these methods;

  • Accept responsibility for protecting themselves, visitors and members of the public who may be affected by their activities;

  • Maintain a consistently high level of environment impact awareness and to conduct themselves in a manner that ensures their actions have a negligible negative impact on the environment.
